Hiring On T.I.M.E.
Hiring on Target, Initiation Managed Electronically
Problem
Michigan leads the nation in unemployment and is expected to retain this undesirable title for the foreseeable future. Attempts to revive our economy by growing alternative industries have revealed several challenges; one of the most significant is aligning legacy skills of Michigan workers with jobs available in growth related industries. Revitalizing our state's commerce requires taking actions that answer the question, “How does our workforce transform, by efficiently and effectively filling into these new growth-industry jobs?"
Proposal
Converting talented workers, displaced from one industry, into fully employed workers in another requires transferring their relevant skills. And efficiently shifting those skills requires establishing strong communication channels between people seeking employment and those seeking employees.
This proposal leverages today's technologies, establishing venues to connect recruiting agents with unemployed Michiganders who broadcast their capabilities, skills, and interests; literally voicing their strengths to hiring agents. Using radio and internet broadcasts, candidates provide recruiters with valuable information not available on today's resumes. With voice and video, more unemployed workers become re-employed faster, and in jobs better fit for them and their employers.
Revitalizing Michigan's Role
As a non-profit organization dedicated to Michigan's economic vitality, we offer to create and operate the below-noted venues. By providing a central location for recruiters to obtain candidate audio and video, these venues enhance communication between job recruiters and unemployed workers, aligning candidate strengths more accurately and completely with position requirements.
